Why Neon Otter

A marketing consultancy that makes compliance pay.

Neon Otter was set up in 2020 by Liam O’Malley, a marketer with over 15 years experience working in Email Marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) with the simple aim of helping businesses to Make Compliance Pay; turning the anxiety of data protection legislation into an opportunity that drives results.

Within marketing circles, there is a nervousness towards compliance that can paralyses marketers. This is due to many factors including a lack of understanding around the regulations, their purpose and the way they are meant to be implemented.

Marketers are busy people, rarely having the time, nor the desire to fully understand data protection legislation whilst legal teams don’t understand the unique challenges faced by marketers – this is where Neon Otter comes in. Our background in CRM plus an extensive understanding of GDPR and data compliance allows us to see the bigger picture, turning compliance into opportunity and delivering results that drive revenue.

From analysing customer journeys to advising on techniques and wording that drive data collection, we take our clients existing processes and modernise them. Putting the customer at the centre of the journey we find the right ways to collect data in line with the latest regulations and on-board that data to ensure your database is as engaged as possible and ready to spend at the right time for them.

A straight-talking consultancy

We are a straight-talking agency that knows how to talk to techies and non-techies alike. We’re experts at helping to clear up confusing language and technobabble, translating client requirements into clear and precise technical specifications that developers understand, reducing wastage, errors and over-engineering

We hate business jargon so you won’t hear us “taking a deep dive” or “coming up for air” despite our aquatic name. Just think of us as a translator between you and your developers, but one that knows the best way to get to your objectives and all in compliance with GDPR and Data Protection Regulations
